Fundamentals:
For students new to hatha yoga and to the Center, and for those
who wish to deepen their practice of basic postures and yogic
practices. Focus is on detailed alignment and form in asana to
deepen body awareness, flexibility and strength. Expect lots
of individual attention. Pranayama (breath) and relaxation
techniques will also be explored.
Tantric Hatha: A challenging class
that incorporates flow sequences that enliven and sustained postures
that foster steadiness and presence. Tantric techniques like mudra,
bandha, mantra and pranayama
will be integrated into the class to more fully
uncover your spiritual, mental and
physical potential. Learn to love your yoga practice as
an integral part of your well being!
Students must have at least six months steady practice to
attend.
Traditional Hatha Yoga:
The classical hatha yogis viewed breath awareness and postures
as a gateway to calming and centering the mind. All levels
welcome to stretch and strengthen the physical body through a
variety of asanas and to learn various yogic breathing
techniques (pranayama). Explore the body as a means to
controlling and steadying the mind and receive the ultimate
gifts of yoga - peace, serenity and compassion for yourself and
others.
Mixed Level:
All yoga practitioners are welcomed in this
class, which will challenge yet provide modifications to
accommodate various experience levels. This class is a
hybrid of traditional and Tantric Hatha Yoga.
